Geek Dads make stuff hard on ourselves

LEGO ice cubes now those look cool.  Now for a geek dad just buying the mold is just out of the question:

First things first: Making your own Lego ice cube trays is emphatically not cheaper than buying them straight out from from Lego.     Could be worse. He could want an airplane.

    And, yes, I do know a guy who did build his own airplane, mostly from scratch (although I think he cheated and used a VW engine to power it with)! It even flew. Once. It seems he was a better builder than he was a pilot. Whoopsie! :-/ Fortunately, he walked away with no injuries to himself (other than his pride).
