Hsien finds the coolest stuff–home DNA kits!
You have to love bringing the good old chemistry set into the 21st century. Come on, foaming test tubes is sooo last century. DNA is hot man (sorry for you DNA folks, yes I caught the pun … old DNA sequencing techniques used radioactive materials, so they are "hot"). Hsien (our faithful leader) highlights a fun DNA kit for kids.
Can you imagine? Dad, I need a DNA swab from you, we suspect you ate half of the last cookie ….

It’s not exactly a home testing kit but there’s a food intolerance kit available to nutritionists, which is fairly easy to use.
I got one in their launch day press pack on a visit, anyone with at least half a day’s lab experience could probably handle it. Turns out I’m mildly intolerant too beer and chocolate and nothing else. D’oh! Have to stick to red wine and…well…what is a good substitute for chocolate?

ummm carob is a substitute for chocolate.
my mother claims that it was the greatest prank she ever pulled off. making her children believe that carob was actually chocolate. neither my brother or myself likes chocolate very much now. i can still taste the ickiness of carob.
its horrible stuff.
