The B5Media network:

PocketMod for quick fieldbooks.

I had this idea a while ago, before this site was live, and I was just reminded of is while writing a post for my new, soon-to-be-launched blog.  So, you’re doing a little field trip with the kids (teachers, this post is really targeted at you, but others can see the value too), now science field trip universally mean one thing–taking notes. Usually kids bring their note books from school, yeah and sometimes they get wrecked, lost, etc.  Then what about that inevitable report after the trip.  What if the kids are supposed to write something up as a group.  You either have torn out pages or re-copied pages.  Now, here’s a simple solution "disposable" notebooks.

Over at PocketMod.com you can print out spiffy little books that required one cut and a little folding.  They have lined pages and graph pages.  Perfect for notes.  You can print them on the backsides of paper and then come report time, you can unfold them and just include in the report as part of the appendix or notes section.  Kid loses theirs?  No great loss.  Wrecked (dropped in a stream or something)?  No worries.  They are so easy to make and print you could easily carry a few unfolded extras (and because all good science teachers carry a pocket knife on a field trip with their first-aid kits), couple snips and a fresh book is ready.

Taking notes on field trips is essential, so make it easy with a PocketMod.
