Let’s talk hair dye
Since she let me take pictures of it, I don’t think Lorraine is going to go ballistic if I tell you she coloured her hair this weekend.
Watching this whole process got me thinking about hair dye. I don’t know much about it, but it sure is interesting.
You start out with hair like this:
Mix couple things together (which btw shouldn’t be done in advance or stored in a closed container, cause it could explode):
Add to hair:
Wait 20 mins (ish), and get this:
And, yes I like the colour. It’s blue-black btw. Regardless, it’s pretty cool. You mix a couple chemicals together, make an unstable reaction (the exploding if left in a closed container is a hint), and put it on hair. The dye, clearly needs something to get into the hair itself. The creme and dye have to work together to make it all come out. Chemistry is so cool.
